    Hello,

I am using the X2 UWB radar chip in a current design. We are getting ready to go through FCC compliance testing for the device. Does Novelda have any app notes or information regarding the FCC requirements and/or test code for the applicable FCC tests?

From CFR Part 15, it looks like requirements in §15.521 applies to UWB technologies.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

    Hi Gabe,

You should contact an FCC approved laboratory for the measurements, they will assist you with operation requirements. At least FCC Part 15.517, 15.519, 15.521, 15.209 can be relevant.

These three modes should get you through:
    1. Continuous UWB transmitting, with all other activities disabled. This mode can be used to demonstrate emissions from the UWB transmitter only.
    2. Only the digital part used for continuous UWB transmitting, with all other activities disabled. This mode tests radiated emissions from digital circuitry used to enable operation of the UWB transmitter. Same as above, without UWB transmitting (PGSelect=12).
    3. Continuous UWB transmitting disabled, while the SPI and MCU are active. This mode can be used to demonstrate unintentional emissions from the digital circuitries.

    Hi Olav,

Thanks for the response. Is there a document or some source code you can point me to that can help us implement those three test modes rather than doing it from scratch?

    Thanks,
    Gabe
