    Hi Michael,

The Chips+Salsa kits are your options to develop applications.

    Hi Olav,

Thank you for your fast answer.

The question is now : isThe chips+salsa kit able to detect specific object like a book or smartphone for example?
Is the chip programmable to do such things or it's out of his scope?

In case you don't have this information, can you please forward it to a specialist?

Thank you in advance for your precious information.

    Best regards

    Michael,

There is not an App or Demo in the Chips+Salsa Kit that identifies specific objects; however, this is not completely out of its scope. Also, the chip itself is very flexible and programmable, and you would have access to all these settings via Salsa as well as all the DSP libraries we have created.

What I am getting at, is in theory it is possible to detect a specific object, but this maybe an intricate, multi-step algorithmic process. We have indeed discussed this functionality before, internally, and at length, so we can help guide you through the development.

In short, radar is definitely a key sensing component in this application, but the development will be complex.

    Regards,

    Hi Will, Hi Olav,

    Thank you for your answers.

    I have another question:

Is the chip can be use to detect cancealed objects behind clothes on a person like a canceal weapon ? Or is out of scope.
I read that uwb radar can be used to do such things.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

    Regards,
    Michael

    Michael,

Yes, one of the hallmarks of this radar is its penetrating capabilities. Detecting objects through clothes is definitely within the scope of this technology and the Chips+Salsa.
